In Spain, the "toro", the star bull, has no chance of survival in the so-called "corrida", the bullfight. Stripped of his strength, he suffers a brutal humiliation and collapses, drowning in blood.
Toro has no way out. Is it the end or the beginning?
He has always been the victim.
Until now.
But now...
This piece portrays the journey of a toro in his lonely and sacrificial way, far away from any matadors, patriarchal rules, abuse, violence, sexism and gender discrimination.
Apiece about grief, resilience and letting go
A ritual performance of "unplayable" cinematic pictures, with humour, contrasts, twists and turns, blended with the surreal fantasies of romantic vintage Italian cinema.

Information is essential to strengthening one's critical attitude. Dance is essential and has the power to keep it human and touch the people directly.
How often can I see what is in front of me?
How often do we read the news without having an idea of the depth of that reality? We are every day bombarded by the news we read, acknowledge the conflicts, war, games of power, domination, manipulation abuse but we rarely deeply get touched by them. Until it touches us personally until such prejudices touch not just an immigrant or refugee but somebody we love, our friend, family, our daughter, mother.
We are used to hearing such news, throw away the newspaper, and continue the daily life as always. But if the newspaper could take life, crackles, swell, explode what would we see? What would come out of it? What kind of visual and body experience will be there for the audience?
Shifting from personal to public news, this piece is a collective solo that includes stories from many women of different countries and cultures that come to be taken as icons to represent the contradicted faces of our society. For the woman and human rights the word "MUT", courage in German, in ancient Egyptian language was referred to a mother goddess, a primal deity of water, the cosmic mother that gives birth to live. “MUT” means also mutilated/mutual/multiracial.
About nowadays's media's domination and manipulation, individual, cultural and religious identity's conflicts, about nationalism, racism and prejudices
How can we open up and peel off our masks to stand and find back who we really are?
“MUT” encourages new actions toward dignity, equality, and freedom.

Supported by Bezirksamt Neukölln von Berlin for the Festival an der Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch
In the frame of the Initiative "Draussenstadt", the project has been selected for the Festival "Uber Wasser"
The toilet facility at the Wildenbruch bridge, transformed by the municipality in a gallery, between the Weingandufer canal and Wildendenbruchplatz is the occasion of the gathering and celebration. The municipality has invited artists to create a project around it with the theme: on the water.
All the events are happening outside and are free of charge.
ACQUA/Wie die Steine auf dem Grund des Flusses is a site-specific performance tailored-suit to Weigandufer Canal next to Wildenbruckplatz.
The performance itself is an ichi-go ichi-e 一期一会 journey.

In this performance I was injured from 3 weeks ago with a lesion at the Meniscus. But I was there.

As part of the Berlin-wide DRAUSSENSTADT initiative, the Culture Department is organizing the “Über Wasser” festival from September 17th to 19th, 2021 at the Kunstbrücke am Wildenbruch.
Over the three days, various artists and artist collectives present 14 very different actions and audiovisual performances over the water, at the former ship landing area, around the Wildenbruchpark and on the newly designed Weigandufer.

TERRA MADRE is the first series of a collaborative site-specific project set in Sicily with the Sicilian photographer and architectural designer Gabriele Cafici who has been working for many years on the theme of identity, roots, and Heimat Land, (Terra Madre). His work between light and shadow, reality and fiction, tells the poetry of life, the passing of time, the folds of existence and dig into the many layers of who we ultimately are, where do we come from.
The local dimension portraited in a wider anthropological frame evokes emotional states and morphological aspects where the daily life full of habits, costumes, and cultures becomes art through photography.
I have started this collaboration with Gabriele to heighten the hidden wonders of our Land, Sicily, a land full of magical landscapes, raw genuineness, generosity, and volcanic love.

Claustrophobic home-officing, exceeding "ZOOMed-online" sessions, how is the body of nerves, bones, muscles, skin, surface and its depth reacting to all of this? Due to the current Covid- 19 worldwide pandemic, the life of everybody has changed with the social restrictions, distance, and lockdowns.
Covered by masks outside and yet still touched by an air that is constantly threatening our life's safety, living in the uncertainty and possibility to be contaminated, constricted to be isolated, closed at home, avoiding social contact and touch, how are the body and sensory nervous system functioning and responding?
In our daily life what stimuli come and how can these be translated in terms of proprioception- the sense of position and movement-? What kind of influence is the pandemic's situation giving to the field of performance and dance? How are the styles, the forms, the genres moving and where?
The piece in form of a 'Spacial Experience In-progress' represents the journey of this last 1 year and how humans are living the new "AIR".

When human beings are experiencing any kind of violence, manipulation, trauma, extraordinary powers come to be activated ..
they are happening too quickly while a feeling of being overwhelmed smashed us
It can be extremely difficult to deal with it
And it might take time until it heals... but it will radically be a spiritual transformation

When we deeply love somebody without any reservation, we can totally feel the other with the body physically, as well as with the mind metaphysically. In such an empathic space, the borderline of the self start fading and the dualism in between melting.
What emerges in the “TWILIGHT” is an intermediate state where not only Me and You, but dancers and audience, man and woman, human and animal, life and death, everything and nothing, start blurring into vague forms where all the boundaries, contours, shapes and colours disappear altogether in space and time. A new landscape comes to life, a sacred cave to enter, that functions through the dance as a mirror for the audience to reflect on himself/ herself. The movement that lies behind the strong images and their aesthetics is a polyphonic pure motion, like an unceasing stream, overcoming any ordinary rhythm and choreography and where the real and the mythical intermingle.
This is an invitation to listen back to the physical empathy and to enter the realm of the unseen, beyond consciousness. The piece intends to offer a refuge for contemporary society that is fulfilled with conflicts between individuals, countries, and religions, by connecting back to deep physical reality and to even more profound dream-like transient world. A place where to pray and hope and where imagination, emotions and the inner higher qualities of the human nature come to be disclosed and expanded.

Everyday we are bombed with news.
In some cases of some country the original news are manipulated by the media and the companies standing behind them.
Everyday the same news comes to be broadcasted from a country to another in different ways, tones and filters according to the politics, which newspaper, radio or TV channel are supporting and the country's policy.
Economical interests, past or present history, and different cultures are going to influence what we are going to listen, to read, to think and project on.
All these news told by words come to be absorbed into the body reaching our mind, generating emotions, thoughts, easy judgments... judging the world without a direct experience of reality, starting from the way things look to me, that most of the time is not how the things are but how I am projecting my emotions or thoughts on them...
But what happens if we take out this mantel of rains of information and projections?

The idea and the title in Japanese are influenced by a Japanese Comics titled “Tekkonkinkreet”.
White and Black, like in Taoism conception of Ying and Yang, are little creatures that represent the two contradicted elements of the Universe: Good and Evil, woman and Man, the West and the East, Heaven and Earth. Wishing that in their distance (間) there will be always the balance, the difference, coexisting in the infinity of love.

BARA TO BOTAN

One day I went to the library and the diary of Frida Kahlo fell on my head.
And I met her, Frida. Quite heavily on my head. And it has stayed like that.
Frida was a controversial charismatic painter and human. Involved in the art, in the love, in the politics.
She was courageous and passionate. Sometimes too much.
I started reading her diary and it was very much resonating in me.
On that time I was coming out from a serious car accident.
This was my first butoh performance in Japan at the Ohno Studio.
It was inspired by a serious car accident that I had when I was 20.
At that time my Master, Yoshito, told me: " You have to start from your accident. From where you could have been dead.
From where the light shut down and where it faded in again"
