Situated between dance, meditation, and performative ritual, the piece explores presence as a living practice: the body in transformation, the space between action and stillness, and the subtle dialogue between movement, sound, and attention.
Each performance unfolds as a unique encounter between performer, musician, space, and audience.

BEFORE APPLAUSE
BEFORE APPLAUSE is an ongoing interdisciplinary artistic performance and part of the research project Poetry in Motion. The work explores presence, visibility, silence, stillness, and collective attention through a minimal choreographic ritual positioned between dance performance and live installation.
Rooted in contemporary dance, choreography, and embodied movement, the piece investigates the relationship between body, space, material, sound, and the gaze of the audience. Through minimal movement and sustained stillness, BEFORE APPLAUSE invites an intimate encounter with the body and the space it inhabits.
At the centre of the work are gaze, stillness, presence, and transformation. The performance explores the moment before recognition and interpretation—the suspended space before something is named, understood, or received.
Rather than presenting movement as spectacle, BEFORE APPLAUSE creates a space for attention. The body becomes both performer and material, while sound, space, and silence contribute to an evolving live installation.
The work inhabits the threshold before recognition, before interpretation, before applause—inviting the audience to experience what happens when attention itself becomes part of the choreography.
Through its minimal form and embodied approach, BEFORE APPLAUSE continues Tiziana Longo's exploration of embodiment, artistic performance, and interdisciplinary choreography, where movement can emerge through stillness as much as through physical action.
