Dancing Tigers – Somatic Movement & Embodiment

Dancing Tigers is a somatic movement practice that combines conscious breathing, gentle mobilisation, dance-based movement, and embodied awareness. The practice invites participants to notice bodily stress and tension, develop greater trust in the body, and explore movement at their own pace.

The Dancing Tiger is a metaphor for inner strength, instinct, and the body's capacity to move through held tension. Inspired by Peter Levine's work on trauma and Somatic Experiencing, the practice explores how breath, movement, attention, and involuntary tremors can become part of a deeper embodied exploration.

Each session begins with conscious breathing and gentle mobilisation before moving into dance-inspired exercises. This somatic practice encourages participants to listen to physical sensations rather than forcing movement, creating space for curiosity, awareness, and connection.

For Tiziana Longo, embodiment is closely connected to dance, performance, and the intelligence of the body. Dancing Tigers brings together somatic awareness and movement in a way that can support a more conscious relationship with sensation, expression, and presence.

I’ve been taking Tiziana’s TRE courses for about a year now, and I highly recommend them.

What started as simple curiosity has slowly turned into a truly valuable and ongoing experience. Over time, I’ve become much more aware of the connection between body and mind, and how strongly the physical state influences emotions, stress levels, and overall well-being.

I especially love how she combines work on the nervous system with play, movement, and her deep knowledge of dance and anatomy. Her sessions feel both grounded and alive — dynamic, approachable, and very human.

There’s a clear sense of care and passion in the way she holds the space. You feel guided, but never pushed, which makes it much easier to explore at your own pace and really listen to your body.
